Common Pain Complaints Treated with Acupuncture
We treat almost every imaginable type of pain whether acute or chronic. The most common musculoskeletal pain can be in the form of joint pain, arthritis, headaches, migraines, frozen shoulder, back pain, neck pain, tendonitis, TMJ, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel and so much more. We successfully treat other types of pain caused by imbalances within our body such as headaches, migraines, shingles, bladder pain or interstitial cystitis, period pain, abdominal pain and a host of other internal medicine pains.
Three Types of Pain Healing Elephant Treats:
1. Inflammatory Pain
Inflammatory pain is identified as pain associated with an increased sensitivity due to the inflammatory response from tissue damage. It is characterized by the perception of, an effective response to, noxious stimuli that occur during an inflammatory or immune response. Inflammation and reparative processes frequently take place after an injury or surgery.
2. Degenerative Pain Conditions
Most people will experience degenerative pain at some point in their lives. The severity of this pain may vary from mild to severe and can be short-lived or long-lasting. Regardless of the degree of discomfort, it eventually may impede your quality of life.
What causes degenerative disc disease?
One of the most common degenerative conditions we help with is degenerative disc disease. Degenerative disc disease can be caused by several factors, including age. Factors for the disease include the drying out of your discs. Most people by the age of 60 have some degree of disc degradation. When we’re born, our discs are about 80 percent water. As we get older, our discs dry out.
Activities and sports that cause tears in the outer layer of the disc and injuries can cause swelling, soreness, and instability. This can result in low back pain, as well as knee pain.
3. Muscle Pain
Muscle pain can occur in various forms. You may feel sharp, random pains, a dull steady ache, or deep pain that you aren’t able to shake. Muscle pain of any kind is a signal from your body that something isn’t right. You’ve sustained an injury or have an infection, disease, or other health problem.
Everyone experiences muscle pain differently which is why our method for treatment includes a thorough intake questionnaire and an individualized treatment plan.
